INFORMATION

For all instruments, the youngest students I teach are in 4th grade. For saxophone and violin lessons, I would consider teaching an individual before they enter 4th grade if their instrument choice has been approved by their school band or orchestra teacher.

The main focus of lessons will always be to develop a solid, healthy technique. For those students interested, I will prepare them for NYSSMA (including sight-reading training). For my singers, we can work on audition materials and I will coach them on all aspects of performing. To keep things "exciting," I bring a variety of genres of music to work on (classical, pop/rock, country, jazz, musical theater - I'm still working on my rap). I focus on helping singers work through vocal changes and coach them on finding their own unique sound.

Lessons can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed. The schedule is made at the end of August for the school year and at the end of June for the summer - it is best to arrange lessons at that time. Since I'm driving to the student's location, it is very difficult to move things around once the schedule is complete. I will always do my best to accommodate individual schedules, but the more flexibility you have, the better able I will be to fit you in the schedule.

POLICIES

Payment is due at the time of a lesson. You may pay by lesson or for several lessons upfront.

Lessons must be canceled by 6pm the night before the lesson or you are still responsible for the missed lesson.

Unless we've discussed it, if you cancel three lessons in a row I will have to take you out of the schedule to make room for students on my waitlist. I like to keep lessons very flexible for you, and you are welcome to cancel whenever you need, but I will assume you aren't serious about lessons if you cancel on a regular basis.
